The college will work from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. with a Lunch Break for One Hour from 12.30 p.m to 1.30 p.m. The information about holidays and vacations are given in the academic calendar.
Attendance will be taken during every lecture hour as well as practical hours.
Morning / Evening Absence of one hour will be treated as absence for half-a-day.
In case a student goes on leave he/she should give the leave application to the staff in charge on his / her first day of return. The leave letter should be signed by parent / guardian and countersigned by the faculty in charge . If his / her leave exceeds three days on medical grounds he / she should produce a medical certificate along with leave letter.
If a student absents himself /herself for two weeks continuously without leave letter his / her name will be struck off the rolls. However, they will be considered for re- admission on payment of a fee of Rs. 500/- with the permission of the Principal / Member Secretary.
Students who represent the college in sports, games or in competitions such as fine arts, quiz, N S S / N C C camps etc., should get prior permission from the principal / Member Secretary to participate in the same. Those who fail to do so will be considered as absentees.
The student should have a minimum of 75% of attendance in all the classes in a semester. No individual warning will be issued to the students regarding the “shortage of attendance. However, percentage of attendance scored by the students will be bulletined every month.
In case of less than 75% of theory attendance, the student can be permitted to apply for the University Examination on payment of the condonation fee at the discretion of the principal /Member Secretary . This condonation will be recommended only twice during the entire duration of study. They will not be permitted for the Third time when come under the condition of study.
Students who will less than 60% of theory attendance, will not be permitted to appear for the University Examination. They will be permitted only on securing the required attendance in the respective semester which they have not been permitted and also the production of attendance Certificate Issued by the respective faculty both theory and practical study.
If any students have a break during their study they have to obtain prior permission from the principal/Member Secretary otherwise their application at the time of Re-admission will not be forwarded to Pondicherry University.
If any students found shortage of attendance below 35% in the respective semester they may not be allow to continue their study in the current years besides the banning of writing of examination. The Re-admitted students have to secure 75% attendance compulsory in each semester.
Disciplinary measures
Disciplinary action may include;
- A reprimand or warning
- To call the parent and take an undertaking from
- With holding the stipend / scholarship/ caution deposit.
- Depending upon the gravity of the offence, appropriate action will be taken by the disciplinary committee headed by the Member Secretary.
- Suspension or issue of TC.
